Hyper Jump

From Galactic Fleets Wiki

The only way to move between Systems is to Hyper Jump. This uses the Starships Jump Drives and is Fueled by Hydrogen.

[edit] Hydrogen Cost

Hyper Jumping between Systems has a Hydrogen cost. This cost is based on the Starship you have selected and the System you are Jumping into. Each Starship has a Hydrogen cost listed like 'Uses 0.10 Hydrogen Per Grid' in it's Ship Info. The base amount is different for each Starship and larger Starships have a bigger base amount. The base amount is how much it costs to move to an Null System which is surrounded by other Null Systems. For example:

Hydrogen Cost: 1 x 0.10
Hydrogen Cost: 1 x 0.10

When the System you are Jumping into is an Active System the cost has an additional X 3 base cost included.

Hydrogen Cost: 4 x 0.10
Hydrogen Cost: 4 x 0.10

When the System you are Jumping into is an Active System in one of the 8 Systems surrounding it there is an additional X 1 cost for each Active System.

Hydrogen Cost: 2 x 0.10
Hydrogen Cost: 2 x 0.10

This can be as much as an extra X 8 if all the surrounding Systems are Active. It doesn't make any difference which type of Active System they are as shown in the example.

Hydrogen Cost: 9 x 0.10
Hydrogen Cost: 9 x 0.10

The maximum Hydrogen cost is 12 times the base cost if all of the Systems surrounding are Active and the System you are Jumping into is Active. This only occurs twice in the whole GF Galaxy.

Hydrogen Cost: 12 x 0.10
Hydrogen Cost: 12 x 0.10

The reason for the extra Hydrogen cost is that the Active Systems have a Gravitational effect on Hyper Jumping and this requires extra Hydrogen to overcome.
