[edit] Overview

Planets are located in Systems. Some are habitable and some are not.

A list of Habitable Planets are as follows:

  • Adaptable
  • Desert
  • Glaciated
  • Marginal
  • Pelagic
  • Terrestrial
  • Utopia

Non-habitable Planets are:

  • Demon
  • Gas Giant
  • Barren

General information about planets:

You can now Transfer Planets to another Fleets control. In the Planets options you just enter the Transfer Ref of the Fleet and click Transfer. If they want the System they will still need to Claim it by having the most Inhabitable Planets in the System. Planets in Protected Systems cannot be Transferred.

Note:If two Players have started in the same System or someone has Claimed a Planet in another Players starting System and needs to Transfer it then please contact me with the details so I can allow the Transfer.

    • If you have taken a Planet in someone else's starting System and they ask for them back you must Transfer them. If that doesn't happen I should be contacted and will do it manually, plus, I might take some of their Credits as a fine for not Transferring Planet.

Planets can no longer be Claimed and are instead Colonized. To do this you need to build a Colony Ship which is a Ship that contains all of the materials to build a Civic Center. Once built, a Colony Ship requires its Quarters be full with 10,000 Workers who will automatically dismantle the Colony Ship and build a Civic Center once you reach the Planet you want to Colonize. Colonizing requires the Ship to have 500 Turns, and once built you'll have a Planet with a Civic Center and 10,000 Workers. The Colonize button is found in the Ships Info.

Planets that have been claimed, but do not have a Population, will return to unclaimed Planets. Planets that have been claimed and have a Population but no Civic Center will stay owned for a couple of days to allow Players to remove the Population or build a Civic Center and then will become available for anyone to Colonize.

An additional way to get new planets is through the Invasion process. Only inactive players planets can be Invaded. The planet will show a population( maybe not though, as the population might have all died),but no owner. To invade one of these, take your transport ship, load it with troops(5250 for LT, 26,250 for regular Transport), and fly to the planet. You will get an "invade planet" button. It takes 100 turns per ship to invade. If you are successful it will say so. If not, it will say so. It takes 1.4 x the planet troops to win.Usually there are 10,000 troops on the planet so it will take 14,000 to win. If not successful the first time, go back and get more troops , return and invade again. There is a 100 planet limit on invasions of inactive players.

As of today, planets with low Approval Ratings risk their Population turning into Rebels. Rebels can only be stopped by improving your Planets Approval Ratings either through lowering Taxes or giving the Population Luxuries (coming soon). A Rebellion once started requires Troops / Mechs to crush the Rebel scum.

Just a portion, but the more Rebels there are the more of the Population they will convert into Rebels. So it's best to crush the Rebellion as soon as you can.

A Rebellion is counted as an Event.

As of today there will be Events that can effect your Planets. These include:

Disease: Common - Spreads Slowly - Requires Medicine
Plague: Uncommon - Spreads Fast - Requires Medicine
Zombies: Rare - Spreads Fast - Requires Troops / Mechs

In your Planets Info the Event will appear and by clicking on the Event you can stop the Event if you have the Requirements. These Events will also later be listed in other places so it's obvious when there is an Event to deal with.

More may come in time and a Rebellion is listed as an Event.

You can move civilians from your infected planet to an uninfected planet, in order to protect them from the Event.

Your Approval Rating is what your Population think of you. When your Popularity drops too low you will start to get your Population turning into Rebels. Rebels don't do anything except make your Approval Rating drop more and encourage more Rebels. If you have Troops or Mechs on the Planet you can use them to deal with Rebels. Also Liquor and Luxuries will help by improving the Approval Rating. Approval Rating also effects if your Population will rise up against an Invading force or welcome them as Liberators.

Conceivably, luxuries would also allow you to maintain a high tax rate and approval rating at the same time.

[edit] Food and water

Usage: 1 Isaton of Food + 1 Isaton of Water per Population. But remember that amount is required every 0.01 CE Year which is a long time.

[edit] Production:

Workers on a Planet can Produce different Items depending on the Planet Type. Workers produce items by using planet turns. On some planets, called Farms workers produce extra food or water for transport to other planets where workers are absent.

Desert: 1:1 with extra food

Adaptable 3:1 with extra food

Glaciated 3:1 with extra water

Marginal 5:1 with extra food

Pelagic 8:1 no extra

Terrestrial 8:1 no extra

When a planet runs out of Food and Water the civilian population will cease to grow. When you go to the Planets Menu and select the option "Growth". The Growth number is the maximum amount of civilians you can gain every CE year. This number is based upon the current population and approval rating of the planet.
